O-Town Joins 'Teenapalooza,' Works On Second Album

From www.launch.com :
(6/12/01, 4 p.m. ET) -- O-Town has been added to list of performers on the Fox summer-concert special Teen Choice Presents: Teenapalooza, which airs June 20 from 8-10 p.m. ET on the network. O-Town will perform its hit single, "All Or Nothing," and will join fellow recent addition Mandy Moore and previously announced performers Sisqo, Eden's Crush, Dream, Shaggy, Lil' Bow Wow, Nelly, City High, and Uncle Kracker at the event, which Shawn and Marlon Wayans will host. O-Town's "All Or Nothing" is currently Number 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

O-Town singer Ashley Parker Angel told LAUNCH that the group is already beginning work on its second album. "We've been writing together as a group for the last couple of months," he said. "We've already demoed some songs--some material for the second album--and that's already in the process, but when we'll actually get together and record it, that's unknown. It just depends on how many singles from this album and how long they last."

O-Town's newest track, "We Fit Together," can be found on the Dr. Doolittle 2 soundtrack, which is due out on J Records on June 19. O-Town's North American summer tour kicks off at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on July 6. O-Town can be seen in the ABC reality series Making The Band on Fridays at 8 p.m. ET.

Trevor's 93.3 Radio Interview on June 6, 2001!

AJ: Its Trevor, what's up?

Trevor: What up?

AJ: Man, people are excited about you guys comin to San Diego in just about a week.

Trevor: Thats right, we are very, very, very excited. I mean, were hearing the type out there and were just like wow thats pretty much unbelievable. Were ready to go, were ready to go.

AJ: Hey, you know what, the love for O-Town out here took me by surprise and we do our concert its called Your Show and we let our listeners vote on who they want on there. I personally was just flooded with e-mails about you guys.

Bridget: Me too.

Trevor: Wow!

Bridget: Yeah, congratulations, you guys are huge!

AJ: Hey, we got Trevor from O-Town on the phone. Now, youve obviously had so much media around you since the t.v. show started. Whats the question youre most tired of answering?

Trevor: Whats it like to be followed by cameras 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

AJ: How many times do you think youve answered that question?

Trevor: A lot!!!

AJ: Well, youve got a smash hit on your hands now with All or Nothing.

Trevor: I dont know if Id call it a smash hit. Its a good song and I think that when people hear it they can relate to it, young and old seem to like it so, its just a really good song.

AJ: Weve got Trevor from O-Town on the phone and weve been letting our listeners e-mail in all morning and heres a big shock, the most common question Im getting is do you have a girlfriend?

Trevor: No and Ill answer for the rest of the band .. nobody does except for Jacob.

AJ: Okay, Ill say, and Im not going to lie, I didnt see that much of the show, but didnt a bunch of you have a girlfriend at the beginning?

Trevor: Dan had one and Ashley had one but they got too hard for both of them actually and they had to cut them loose. Cuz its the lifestyle and you cant be the boyfriend you want to be.

Bridget: I heard a little rumor about an O-Town member and a Popstars Edens Crush member.

Trevor: Who, Erik?

Bridget: Yeah.

Trevor: We heard that rumor about a month ago and we still have never even met them, so, shows you how true that rumor is.

AJ: You know, the funny thing is the first time youll meet them is next week out here. Theyre going to be at our show as well as you guys.

Trevor: Thats right, thats right.

Bridget: Things might change once you do meet them, theyre gorgeous.

Trevor: I know, thats what I keep hearing.

Bridget: It might happen right here in San Diego!

AJ: The line forms behind me Trevor when the Popstars come out!

Trevor: Definitely.

AJ: Is there anyone you havent gotten to know before that you might want to?

Trevor: Michael Jackson.

AJ: Yeah, well, well see. When his new album comes out

Trevor: Yeah, when that comes out the whole world is gonna be like

AJ: Okay cool. Were talking to Trevor from O-Town. He is definitely a Your Show II artist and a member of one of the biggest bands in the country right now. Whats going to be next after All or Nothing? Ya know with the next single or video, you know all that?

Trevor: We dont really know, were just going to try squeeze everything out of All or Nothing that we can, I guess. We dont really know. It might be a soundtrack song, were thinking .. maybe from the Dr. Doolittle soundtrack that we have a song called We Stick Together. Could be that .. I mean could be, we dont really know. Were just going to see what radio really wants.

AJ: You started kind of on t.v., well not kinda, ya did but it was a reality type thing. I know a lot of the other pop artists right now are crossing over to do movies and t.v. and acting type things. Is that in the future for you?

Trevor: For me personally, acting is probably something that will definitely be in my future. Thats what I was pursuing before O-Town, so I think for me personally, I would say yes.

AJ: Okay man, cool. Let us know, keep us informed. Were gonna see you at Your Show II and were going to try to get you guys in the Playhouse the morning of the show .. well see if that happens.

Trevor: Excellent .. I think we are gonna make that happen.

AJ: That will be off the hook .. Trevor from O-Town. Well see ya in a week my friend.

Trevor: Alright!!!

JACOB TALKS ABOUT HIS INJURY TO CHANNEL 93.3 FM IN HIS HOMETOWN OF SAN DIEGO!
From the Channel 93.3 FM interview with Jacob and Hitman Haze in San Diego, CA on 6/5/01

Jacob: I was in New York, and were in the middle of doing a radio tour right now, we were up in the northeast, and we were up in...lets see, where were we? We were in the Cleveland area when I got hurt. We were at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and I was later brought to New York to see some doctors, and thats when MTV got a hold of it, I guess, and they ran it on TRL. So now pretty much, Im getting calls...My dad, people who I havent had time to talk to yet because, you know, Ive been seeing doctors since then...since last Monday, are calling me like, I heard on TRL you were hurt... so I pretty much thought it was news already.

Hitman Haze: Yah man, you know we just mentioned that you got in some kind of...that you injured your back, and that we wished you well over here. We didnt really go into it because we didnt want anyone to panic or anything.

Jacob: No, no, its nothing to panic about, I mean I feel really bad about it. Its just...Ive had a bad back for awhile...and I guess we just found out yesterday what they think it is. I had to go through so many tests...like bone scans and Im going in for an MRI tomorrow. But they think that I broke my sacrum, thats your lower back bone. And its a really hard cartilage, and it usually turns into bone by the time youre about 26. And my lower spine bone...they think that I tore the cartilage part right there...the tendon apart.

Hitman Haze: Damn!

Jacob: And it will heal fine, thats the good news! It will heal and it will be as good as new, its just a very SLOW healing process

Hitman Haze: But at least youre home, man, and at least you got the family and friends support now

Jacob: Yeah, Im being taken care of

Hitman Haze: You got mom now, dude, mom always helps when you get injured

Jacob: Oh, you have no idea! My mom has been on the ball. I would still be in my bed, like not being able to move...my moms hooked up the doctors and talked to all the doctors from, like, across the nation that Ive seen. Ive got new doctors in every city, and she had to contact all of them to get all the information sent, you know...shes a blessing, man.

Hitman Haze: Whenever Im hurt, dude, I call my mom regardless, cause I know moms voice always just so eases the pain I guess you can say...

Jacob: Oh no, moms are the best! Moms are the best! With everyone on the road taking care of me, Im like, Im going home to my mom..no way...

Hitman Haze: So youre doing the physical therapy from here in San Diego obviously...

Jacob: Yeah I am!

Hitman Haze: I mean, obviously though, people wanna know that youre definitely gonna be here for Your Show on the 15th.

Jacob: You know what, oh...Im gonna be here! See, Im leaving...Im gonna be leaving on the 11th to meet up with some vocal coaches and choreographers. Im not going to be able to dance, obviously, but Im just gonna sit in to watch to learn it. And were gonna go over some music for just 3 days and then Im gonna come back with the guys. So Im gonna miss physical therapy, and were gonna get someone on the road with us to work with my back everyday.

Message from Erik-Michael's Mom! :-D from Destination O-Town
5.11.01-A VERY SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM ERIK-MICHAEL'S MOM!
This is a message from Erik-Michael's Mom, Micki, to all of the DCrew Peeps/any other fans who have helped O-Town's continued success!

xoxox
DCrew Heather
-------------------------------------------------------
Good morning Heather,

Thank you so much for your kind words, I know they are heartfelt and you are very special to me as well. This is all very new to me and a little overwhelming at times, but I must say you and the rest of the dcrew have been so outstanding in your support of the quints and getting so many fans on board it blows the mind. As much fun and informative as the internet is it still does not come close to meeting someone face-to-face and seeing their enthusiasm and love first hand, that is why I was so happy to finally get to meet you in NY. I hope to someday be able to meet the rest of the dcrew and fan club presidents who work so many hours without any recompense, but the satisfaction of promoting O-Town. I can't imagine how hard you all work what with having jobs and going to school, and yes even your own kids, yet you seem to accomplish so much, and may I add it's "quality stuff" you put out there.

What can I say about the fans - they're "the best in the world", their support and expressions of love can never be measured and I know the boys give out 150% everytime because of them. As for having a special "O-Moms Day" for TRL, that is the most surprising part of all - and quite honestly the second best gift you could give us this weekend (the first one of course is making our boys #1). I could never have imagined being so emotionally connected to so many people simply because my son is 1/5 part of an amazingly, loving and talented group of young men.

I guess I could say things like "you guys rock", "you're da bomb", "you guys are awesome" and those phrases are all applicable, but the bottom line is it's "All For Love". The quints will be thrilled when they hear what's going on here, and we can't wait for them to come home.

Thank you again, God Bless, enjoy your moms this weekend, and vote, vote, vote!!! And for you Erik-Michael Roaddoggs out there thank you for making me my own tag (if Erik ever gives it up) Woof, woof, woof!

Caio for now,
Micki (Erik-Michaels very proud mom)
