He also composes and plays his own songs, and recently a local radio station expressed interest in one that he recorded on CD. Ashley began his musical career when his mother, a piano teacher, taught him to play at age four. He credits his stepfather with teaching him to play the drums and guitar.
Q and A:
Q: What about you will make you an interesting roommate?
A: I am very open and easy going, and have an awesome sense of humor. I am also very driven and focused on becoming the best. I also own Star Wars sheets and pillows, which is an added plus. (No one will be allowed to share my Yoda toothbrush, though!)

Q: How would someone who really knows you describe your best traits?
A: Loving, patient, honest, dedicated, focused, comical, charismatic, charming, and everybody's best friend.

Q:How would someone who really know you describe your worst traits?
A: Maybe a little "vain" sometimes. Too focused or "into" what I'm concentrating on so that I have trouble deciphering the outside world.

Q: Describe your fantasy date.
A: Candles, dim-lighting (preferable outside at dusk), soft music and a freshly cooked meal... by me. There has to be a certain level of intimacy, no crowded restaurants or showy clothes. I think natural and beautiful at the same time is very sexy.

Q: Who is the most important person in your life right now?
A: Objectively, it is hands down my mother. She has worked hard and supported me through everything and I attribute my entire musical background to her. Other "high-scorers" on the list of most important is my mentor and prior drama teacher. He is always teaching me and inspiring me further.

Q: Describe a major event or issue that affected your familly.
A: My grandfather passed away recently from cancer. This pulled our familly closer and we were able to remember him with happy memories. We were close.

Q: Is there any issue, political or social, that you're passionate about?
A: Politically, there was a bill in California being voted on that would grant school librairies and classrooms more money. We got students together and rallied all day on the street in front of my high school.

Q: What is your greatest fear?
A: My greatest fear is setting a goal for myself that I want so bad I can taste it - and never achieving it.

Q: If you had Aladding's Lamp and three wished, what would they be?
A: 1. My familly to be taken care of the way I feel they should.
2. I would wish for success in life. Not immediate success, though, I want to enjoy the journey as well.
3. More wishes! (And this is a valid wish!! If you want, we will argue one-on-one in an arm-wrestling match to the death.

Q: What was the first concert you attended, and who did you go with?
A: It was a Third Eye Blind concert and I went with my bestfriend/cousin Casey.

Q: If you attended the MTV Music Video Awards, which artist would you want to meet most and why?
A: Michael JacksonÂis that even a question?!! He is such a legend and he revolutionized pop music forever.

Q: What CD is in your walkman right now, and what is your favorite cut off the album?
A: Jimmy Eat World  every song.

Q: Since "Friends" is one of your favorite TV shows, which of the female characters is most like someone you would date and why?
A: It would definitely be Rachael! I love her sense of humor and that is something that really goes over big with me. I also think that Jennifer Aniston is beautiful.

Q: What do you consider the best thing about your hometown of Redding, California?
A: My family.

Q: You brought "Star Wars" sheets with you to Orlando. Would you consider yourself more of a Luke Skywalker or a Han Solo and why?
A: Han Solo without a doubt! He has a vulnerable side under all that heroism and he comes in with the comic relief at all the right times (plus he got with Princess Leia).

Q: How long does it typically take you to get ready for an evening out on the town, and which takes longer a) doing your hair or b) picking out what you're going to wear?
A: It depends on how many of my cool clothes are in the laundry. If I have a lot of things in my closet to choose from then its 1.) doing my hair. If I have to improvise then it b.) because that can get really creative.

Q: What music do you use to set the mood when you're trying to get "your swerve on" with a hot lady?
A: "I'm too sexy" by Right Said FredÂjust kiddingÂI would have to say some stuff acoustic Third Eye Blind.

Q: Are you more of an "Iron Chef" guy (competitive and focused) or an "Emeril Lagasse" type chef (likes to party and be a ham)Âand what dish do you prepare to impress a date?
A: Most definitely "Emeril Lagusse." If I am really trying to pour it on I'll call my Mom ans she will help me with her culinary experience with something really different.

Q: Who was your favorite band in Junior High, and was your hair affected by your being a fan of that particular band?
A: The Guess WhoÂno.

Q: You claim you're always known as the "funny one." Who are your favorite comedians?
A: Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldbergbasically everyone on Comic Relief.
